What is a good way to remedy asthma attacks when you don’t have an inhaler?

I haven’t needed an inhaler for years but recently I’ve been getting attacks at night. I have no insurance and have no prescription at this time. I’m hoping I can get some herbal remedys or some advice here.

I usually drink ice cold water to shrink the inflammation on the airways so I can breathe
